After a real and i mean a real long wait -one of the Bud's finally opened .It was making 5 spikes this year-but for some reason 4 stopped growing :( but one kept going and gave me 2 Buds-the other 4 are still green-so maybe there is hope for next year. Yes,that Amediella is sure slow .....like Mollasses :( But once they bloom ,they make up for the wait. So hang in there ...( shopping is a good thing to pass the time while waiting  |

I certainly understand "slow". My plant developed three and only made one spike that has been growing since mid Nov. and is finally starting to develop two buds.
Your other group of flowering plants look superb. Must be quite a comfort on a cold day in Canada. |

When you say "mostly above 0" I want to shiver. I get cold when it gets below 60F.

My Friend in Saskatchewan has - 43 with the wind chill So for me ,our "mostly above 0 " feels almost hot  Our winters in BC have been pretty mild last few years. How are the Buds coming along on your Amesiella? |
Lovely!
I can see someone is loving the pink! :) Perhaps your Amesiella monticola stopped the other four spikes because it was feeling a bit too cold?? At least one made it and gave you huge (ratio to the plant size) flowers. Are they fragrant?? I almost bought some at the show this past week, but I went for Aerangis fastuosa instead, which has been on my wish list for a while. |
The progress is so slow that it is difficult to see much difference from week to week but the good side is that they are still holding on and look healthy. The long wait is well worth the effort if they finally bloom.

Yes it's seems all my pink ones are in bloom,I have 7 pink ones ,2 white and one purple blooming right now . They do have a slight fragrance, not very strong, nothing compared to nodosa. I don't know if it got too cold,it sits with my Catt's on the same shelf and they seem to be okay.Maybe it just didnt feel like making more,Orchids are on there own schedule,no matter what we do :( ---------- Post added at 12:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:18 PM ---------- Quote:
