Bulbophyllum Medusae
2 Attachment(s)
here's my spotted bulbo.
just one flower, but, hey, it stinks like three. |
Cool flower. Never seen one before.
|
The flower is quite interesting and you say it stinks=you are so brave....I have this orchid for the past three years and I hope I get to coax it to bloom for me, stink and all....
|
Really nice, but what kind stink? Something rotten or what?
|
It's very pretty but it's not medusae.

The vendor told me it is, but it was flowerless and I couldn't know. Now that I googled a bit I saw the difference. ---------- Post added at 07:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:10 AM ---------- Quote:
It's something that I never smelled before, and the only thing I can say is that it's not a pleasure. |

Bulbophyllum Medusae
I've sent a message to the vendor. We'll see. Yes, it's very pretty. I'll keep it anyway, but I'd be glad to know its name.

Perhaps B. tingabarinum?
|
Tingabarinum is orange

B tingabarinium can also be a very light orange...almost yellow...but it's not that one either.
The flower is very familiar but, off the top of my head, I couldn't give you a name. Hopefully the vendor will recognize it. Either way, it's very pretty. |
Looks to me like its bulbophyllum Thai Spider ( which has medusae as a parent)
|
It is very cool. Good going.
|
I agree not pecten-veneris (of which tingabarinum is a synonym). Almost certainly a hybrid, possibly Thai Spider (medusae x gracillimum) as Jack said, or maybe Worayuth White Fang (flabellum-veneris x medusae). There are other possibilities, some likely unregistered, so unfortunately without more info from the vendor you can't put a definite ID to it. Nice, though, whatever it is!
|
Yea, thats not Medusa. Whatever it is, its nice.
