Very nice!

troy 08-16-2015 08:07 PM

It smells very rotton!!!

Trollsvans 08-17-2015 02:05 AM

Good coloration on that one!
The red tongue looks very "colombian necktie" in this section of the genus.

Without getting too gory: the lip looks like a tongue, and in this case, the "sail" petal looks a bit like the upper jaw.
I was meaning to write "chelsea grin", not colombian necktie.
I helped build props and decor to a horror movie, this just reminded me of it.

I know this bulbophyllum as putidum. Can someone tell me if putidum is a synonym of fascinator, or is it a separate species?

No-Pro-mwa 08-19-2015 12:23 PM

Wonderful.

Putidum v fascinator

sastry 09-11-2015 06:15 AM

Is this Bulbophyllum putidum?

Hi
I am confused whether it is Bulbophyllum putidum or B. appendiculatum.

DeaC 09-12-2015 10:36 AM

Hi...check out Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia. Some sources,it says, put them as the same but this source will note the differences as well.

This truly is amazing to see! I'm so appreciative of your pictures so I can admire this beauty without having to smell it!

i recently purchased this one, i was told it doesn't smell bad, does it??

it's not too bad if it does, i've been kinda curious to try a stinky Bulbophyllum. hope i don't regret said curiosity!
