Catasetum shunkei - waited quite a few years for the blooms, all worthy :rofl::rofl: Smallest Catasetum I know too.

Didn't know catasetums came so small! But if it's out there, you'll have it! Quite eye-catching!

DeaC this one is tiny (and I heard there are few more tiny Catasetum species). I would love to attach picture of the whole plant, but I have issues past several hours to attach any pics :-(

Those are the coolest blooms on one of these I have seen.

GORGEOUS! This one has been on my wishlist for a year or 2 now. I can't seem to find an affordable source though.

Michael, they are not the cheapest ones, you can try the imports, Peruflora has them from time to time, but they do not come in great shape sometimes.

Very nice!! I'm curious to see the whole plant if you're able to get the photo uploading issues resolved.

JDT 07-08-2015 03:33 PM

Tommy,
Well done and worth the wait, now you get to enjoy this one more often.

Picotee 07-10-2015 08:03 AM

Impressive! Hope you can upload the whole plant pic.

TOMMYMIAMI 07-10-2015 09:22 AM

Ok, here it is, the plant in active growth hold in the hand, it does not grow bigger than this ;-)

Oscarman 07-10-2015 04:21 PM

Great looking flowers TommyMiami. Definitely a wish list plant for me now.

It's very cool. Does that qualify as a giant in your collection? Also wondering....is this the only one of your orchids that doesn't produce quarters? ;)

Beth, this one is still considered small, I have much bigger orchids (still keeping a few that I can't let go). And I believe I did use a quarter at some point during taking these pics too :-)
