Dendrobium pentapterum

I was surprised that I didn't find a thread on this species on the board, perhaps I am just spelling it wrong:

This was a recent purchase but culture seems pretty easy. I'll take any and all suggestion on how to cultivate it. And yes, as you can see in the pics I paid ten dollars for two blades of grass <sigh>.

:hello This is beautiful!

I don't have any first hand culture notes to give, I don't grow this one.

Um, I'm not sure what these projects are, can someone explain?

I bought it at our local orchid society meeting, the speaker was Ron Parsons, so I think it is a division of one of his plants...there was another private vendor there, so I'll check the label and see what's what.

Jay's site lists this as "cool to warm growing" but in researching it today, I found mostly suggestions that it be grown cool. How are you growing yours?

Here's some info on our OB projects...the next one starts March 2:

OMG! How cute is that? Unfortunately cools don't do very well here. Summers are way too hot.

Wonderful pictures. Great to learn about a new species to me.

Toddybear 01-25-2008 05:55 PM

 I love it! It's adorable - great growing. To echo sue this would make a lovely project plant  (obviously just an excuse for me to get it lol) ...I too would like to know whether it grows cool, or whether it can tolerate more intermediate conditions

Very Cute! Too bad if it's a cool grower, would never last at my house
