Ctna Dal's Capri 'Gift' x Bc Dal's Charm 'Ebony'

Bought this last year. First flowering in Sydney summer. Just one small one though.

Thanks to Roy for the updated correct name for this hybrid - Rhyntonleya (Rly) Swan's Shy.

Thanks Dillon. Hybridised by a local Aussie Cattleya grower. My first flowering. :bowing

I always love these cattleya hybrids with the flares

ChipMolly 01-18-2015 06:47 PM

Dillon The hybridiser also does those spotted 'leopard' print like hybrids. Not sure I like them though, as like you, I prefer these ones with lovely flares.

Well I like both, but the ones with flares call to me:biggrin:

Hey, do you have a mister or humidifier in you greenhouse?

ChipMolly 01-18-2015 07:11 PM

My greenhouse is just an against the wall floor length cabinet, small enough to humidify with one of those cheap eBay sonicating humidifiers and with multiple fans for circulation. However I grow my Catts outdoors sheltered or indoors in Sydney, they seem to do ok. I just don't have a lot of space for plants as I live in an apartment and there's only the balcony.

Lovely!

LovePhals 01-18-2015 07:39 PM

Great set up!

Dillon123 01-18-2015 07:40 PM

Do you water everything at once or each plant individually

Roy 01-19-2015 06:11 AM

With the name changes etc which are a pain, the registered name for this cross is

Rhyntonleya (Rly) Swan's Shy.

I'll post a pic of a white one.

ChipMolly 01-19-2015 05:56 PM

Thanks Roy. I can never get my head around the newer names for the Cattleyas hybrids so I just copy what's written on the tag knowing they are outdated!

I am a big fan of Cattleytonia and I love you plant.
