Purchased as blooming sized but when it arrived 9/10/14 it had a nice little spike starting. These past two weeks have been excruciating waiting for it to finally start opening and I can't tell you how many times I've checked on it the last 4 days...couldn't be more pleased with how pretty the bloom is finally <3

Thanks! The bottom petal (lip?) is practically identical to that of my noid Brassia which I think is pretty cool :)

Congratulations! Love it, does it smell good?

judith_arquette 12-01-2014 12:11 PM

Thanks! :)
I haven't noticed any scent at all, my sniffer isn't very sensitive though :-/
Is it supposed to have a fragrance? I'll def be checking for one now :)

It could! Give it a few days to develop its aroma...but within a week of opening there could be a sweet fragrance...here's hopin' :)

I will keep checking :) I know my Brassia Rex 'waiomao spotless' was in bloom for at least 2 weeks before I caught it's scent for the first time, it was so faint at first that I thought I was imagining things but daily it got stronger. I Hope I can get it to rebloom, what a heavenly scent it had...

Congratulations! It is always fun when the blooms finally start to open. :)

As well you should :)

Yes do feel proud! That's exciting. It's hard waiting for those buds to open. It seriously feels like FOR-EV-ER. I appreciate how you took pics at every stage of opening because I've done the same thing. Well done!

Be sure to check for scent in sunlight if you can and morning-early afternoon.
