A dark Vini colour Paph

Just a NoID but I love this one. Unfortunately while I like the flowers of this one more than my other similar one, this is the slower growing of them. Two flower this time though :)

So pretty

Excellent colour!

No-Pro-mwa 11-08-2014 11:27 AM

Oh it is so pretty.

RosieC 11-08-2014 04:31 PM

Thanks everyone. Despite growing slowly it does flower every time a growth matures so it's reliable that I keep getting blooms :)

Ooo! Wonderful!

soobie 11-08-2014 10:38 PM

Beautiful!!

Thanks Sonya and Soobie. Always difficult to photograph these dark ones, I've tried on a light background but didn't like that either. The colours look great in my living room anyway :)

While Steve was testing out some things with the camera he took some hand held shots against the wall. It seemed to work better than the white backdrop we have tried in the past.

Nice.

Pretty! Which picture is more true to the dark red/ purple of these flowers? I appreciate how the lighter background facilitates the translucency in the petals. I do find it's tricky to get all the details as accurate as possible in a picture. Good job!

It's difficult to say, probably the first of the ones on the white background for daylight, but in the evening in artificial light closer to the ones on the dark barkdrop.

Oh nice! All the better to have taken photos with both backgrounds, you captured its night and day look!

As I mentioned in the first post, my other Vini colour Paph grows faster but I'm not quite so keen on the flowers. They are still nice, but I prefer the shape of the first. The second is currently in flower.

Wow, pretty and nice pictures.

Wow!! Gorgeous!!!

RosieC 03-08-2015 03:35 AM

Thanks Shannon & Tindo :)

Someone above asked which of the photos of the first plant had the most accurate colour. Well actually these latest pictures of the second plant show the colour of both of them most accurately (at least on my monitor). Hubby's getting better all the time at using the new camera :) Though the first is not so white on the outer edges of the dorsal.
