Showing off my FIRST orchid rebloom

I purchased this Cattleya last year just as at the end of its blooming cycle. It sent up a spike some time later and then sat...quietly...doing nothing.

Last month I moved it from outside to a West window sill with sheer curtains sheltering it from directing sun and then outside of watering, basically ignored it.

Last week, I picked it up and discovered two well developed blooms and a few days later I was blessed with these lovelies...the perfect shade for October!

 I am a happy camper!!!

Hooray! I remember my first. It's still just as special

Gorgeous congrats! :)

Gorgeous! Does it have a name?

I'm checking with the orchid retailer that I purchased it from. Reviewing their online catalog, it might be a Lc. Mary Ellen Carter 'Dixie Hummingbird'...but that is a best guess. The color isn't quite right but that could be due to a number of variables. I'll post a confirmation when I get a response from Seattle Orchid. They are good about getting back.

Congratulations! There's nothing as exciting as your first rebloom...well @ least in the orchid world :)

Adorable flower....its always exciting to rebloom a plant

Wow! I know what you are feeling! I started collecting a few catts last year. Five bag babies, and four full grown. They do well as long as they have good drainage and can dry out. I'm excited to say one of my bag babies is giving me her first flower. I suspect by next year they all will, and these are plants I have never seen the flower on.

Great growing! How exciting. Starting out I didn't realize how big of a deal it was to rebloom an orchid, now I get it. I can definitely imagine how you felt when you saw the bloom!!

Congrats!
