Right brain vs. Left brain

I don't know too much about the science behind this, but the first time I could only see the dancer going clockwise. After some struggle, I was able to see her turn both ways...

Which way do you see things?

Call the doctor! I'm losing it!!!

First, I saw counter-clockwise...then concentrated on it and saw it going clockwise...

what's really scary is if I look away, I see it out of the corner of my eye going the first way and when I look straight at it, she switches!!!

Thanks shakkai...my oncoming insanity is now confirmed

By the way...congrats to you! 1000 Posts! :dance13:

I lost my sanity some time ago... so not to worry! I think Insanity is a very nice place to be, even if its just for the occasional visit! :)

It is pretty freaky how one's mind interprets things! Just goes to show that we may all look at the exact same thing and see something different each time.

And, :thanx: ! I've got another flower! Yippee!!

At first I saw it reverse several times, first one way then next the opposite. Kept doing that. Then I read the side bar, looked back and saw only clockwise. :scratchhead:

Ditto for me.

Some people dread insanity, I enjoy every minute. ;)

I wonder how real this is. I saw it clockwise, and then it switched....I read the side bar as well and it said if you focused hard enough you could make it switch directions....I couldn't make it switch...I think it is switching on it's own!

Ross, It sounds like you're 'of two minds'! :)

I saw it go both ways first clockwise then anti clock wise if I looked at the side bar and back it switched directions .. Gin

Becca, nothing in the graphic animation changes - i.e. it doesn't "switch" - it is how your brain see it that changes. I couldn't see it the other way at all the first time, it was only clockwise. I tried it some time later, and was finally able to see it turn both ways. My husband can only see it go counter-clockwise....

GreggC 12-10-2007 02:35 PM

I wish it would make up it's mind!

Gin, Sounds like you've got a well balanced mind!

At first I only saw it counter- clock wise. What was weird is I looked at the side bar and thought, "That should be COUNTER-clockwise." I looked back and she was going the other way! Then she started going counter-clockwise again. After starring at it a little while longer I could make her co back and forth. Weird.

flhiker 12-10-2007 08:09 PM

At first I could only see it clockwise, but after concentrating I was able to get it to go counter clockwise. Cool.

Jo Ann 12-10-2007 08:27 PM

I guess I’m extremely right brained…(only half wants to function...:dumb: ) to get her to turn counter clock wise I have to look at her from an angle out of the corner of my right eye and even then I have to fully concentrate. But I’m only able to do it for a few seconds and then she’s clock wise again. I’ve read that men are more left brain, while women are more right sided….:scratchhead:

I was able to see it both ways at will as well. At first it seemed to switch on its own without me controlling it, but then I got the hang of it. As a kid I used to love drawing stick figure cubes and sometimes the cube was pointing up, and others it was pointing down. Hehe. Then I learned to control it.
