L. Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime'

I bought this in 2011 at Cal Orchids in Santa Barbara, first year I had one spike, then a year with nothing, then an unseasonal blooming in late summer, and now showing its potential with 4 beautiful spikes of flowers. Not huge flowers but the colors are very cheery. Luckily here in So Cal it grows great outside on the patio. It had one lead growth when I got it, last fall 2 and this fall 4 new grows. I hope next year it will have even more.

Gorgeous! L. Anceps do so well here in Miami I finally added this amazing hybrid to my collection, a good sized plant I picked up at the Tamiami show. Should bloom next year but your show stopper will hold me until then!

Very nice, warm coloration, and great plant you've grown there, too!

Very nicely grown. Love the color.

Pretty colors. Reminds me of lilies for some reason.
Is that a cymbidium in last picture?

I also saw these at that show...I debated buying one but I think it was a little more than I wanted to spend at the time. I would certainly like to get one in the future.

Beautiful display! This has been on my wish list for some time. I never see it available here tho. How big are the flowers?

Fabulous! One of my favorites!

Obviously a rich flowering happy plant. Well done.

Yes, beautiful colors on this L. anceps mix

On the question about the cymbidium, yes, that is my Cymbidium Breakout "Flame" - I posted more pictures on the cymbidium forum. It looks like this will be a good year for my cymbidiums with three new ones flowering for the first time.

On the size of the flowers on Santa Barbara Sunset, they are relatively small, 2 maybe 3 inches but make up for it in quantity and color. I think it's a hybrid of Laelia anceps × Laelia ancibarina, the latter being where the flower form and color come from.

Beautiful, I love these. They really have some lovely orchids. Yours is doing very well.

I love that plant! I have one that is growing like a weed but no flowers yet. Seeing yours is encouraging. My laelia ancep bloomed and the flowers had to be rescued from that sticky sap. Maybe next year my Santa Barbara Sunset.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos! I love this plant too. I repotted mine and it decided not to bloom this year. Yours looks gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous!
