Vascostylis Pine Rivers Orange

Got this baby some 2 months ago from Royal Orchid Club. At the time of my order they had this one only in "near blooming" size, the ones in blooming size were sold out. I did love the color, wanted to have always orange one, so I went for it. The orchid was in ok shape, more bad than good, but that could be said about the whole order. In 2 months it got much better, there is lot of new roots, and it decided to reward me with the spike which is opening now. It gets late afternoon full sun, water daily, fertilize at least 1x a week, and feed sea weed few times a month.

Really gorgeous. Great job rescuing it from not such a good start, it obviously likes your care :cheer:

Question, does Vascostylis bloom only once a year or there is a chance for it to bloom multiple times?

TOMMYMIAMI 10-10-2013 07:16 PM

Just few more as it has opened nearly all the blooms by now (still few left).

IncurablePlantHead 10-10-2013 07:24 PM

I don't know its flowering tendencies, but that's a nice set of flowers!

What a lovely show!

Many thanks, yes, I do love this one, the color is not exactly as it was pictured, was expecting more orange, this is more to coral, but still very pretty!

That is a lovely flower. I love the yummy texture and color....it is true to its form as a Vasco=cute and floriferous. Good Growing Tommy !

This is a sequential grower....I wouldn't be surprised if you get a spike just as the flowers are fading....once this start flowering it will continue giving you blooms....

Great looking blooms and colorM

A great testament to your growing skills, especially considering the source of the plant.

Very pretty color! This is the first time I've seen that color on a Pine River's. I have the Pine River's "Fushia" and it's done pretty well for me. South Florida is a good place for growing vandas.
