Paphiopedilum concolor

First flowering seedling, I can't take credit for it as it was in bud when I bought it. I am a bit concerned that there are no leads but hopefully some will develop over summer. It's actually a much bigger plant than I expected for a first flowering but I haven't grown many of these before.

Anyway I think the shape is poor but I like the colour, there is no sign of going yellowish and initially I had doubts it would be a concolor but I guess it is.......;-)

Also grows cool and is easy to grow really.

Yes I must admit I didn't realise this Brachy was sequential.

Nice. This species has lots of variation. Mine also starts the new growth after the flowering is done.

Ah ok that is great to know, I have had other brachy's do that as well so it makes sense.

It depends on the cultivar. Mine generally throws two flowers/spike. I think I've seen one with three flowers/spike here on OB or on Slippertalk. This cultivar seems to be particularly white. Are the photos true to color with the plant?

Reportedly concolor can produce up to 5 flowers on the same spike. I seem to recall seeing a photo with at least 3 flowers open simultaneously.

Beautiful.
