Pot. Petit Petit "Lucky"

This is a colorful little mini-cattleya that sparkles in the sunlight. It's mounted on piece of cork.

What an adorable flower.
I love the candle light effect of lip.
The form is similar to the Sophronitis species....

That is really nice. Very well grown. Did you mount it? I love the minis. So varied in color. Nice one Tucker.

Yes, James, I bought six mini-cattleyas and mounted some on cork and some on tree fern. I've only been mounting orchids for less than a year. I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the compliments.

Beautiful, Jeff!

james mickelso 08-12-2013 12:46 AM

Well Jeff, you did a great job. If I keep my orchids I will start putting more of them on mounts.

No-Pro-mwa 08-12-2013 10:19 AM

Whats this if you keep your orchid stuff.

That is a very cute little thing. The mounts look so neat but do they make a mess if they are not in a green house?

Mine aren't in a green house but they're grown outdoors in South Florida. I wouldn't grow mounted orchids if I was growing indoors and even here in Florida it's just an experiment for me. It often rains almost every day during the summer so getting orchids to dry out, to prevent rot, is our biggest problem.

Gorgeously colored and so natural looking on the mount!!! good job!!

Jeff,

This one had me stuffed for a while, there are heaps of 'Petit's' on the RHS register, after a bit of searching around I found that I think this should be Rhyncattleanthe Petitpetit Lucky. That is the way it is put on the RHS.

You're right, Warren. The label is not correct and I couldn't find it on Orchid Wiz because I was using two separate names instead of one combined name. I'm glad I got that straightened out. Thanks.

buckie 08-14-2013 05:01 AM

Jeff,

Glad to be able to help, I like looking up names for people, I had a lot of incorrect names in my collection untill I learnt how to use the computer to get the correct names, if you or anyone else for that matter want help just contact me.

Warren
