Got a trio of orchids for Valentine's Day, and I THINK 2 of the 3 are phalaenopsis orchids but the 3rd one looks a bit different. I've been geeking out and finding out all this interesting stuff about orchids and it's driving me nuts not being able to find it. Anyone have a clue? (The first picture with the yellow/green orchid

It's a Dendrobium of some sort. The other two are Phals! All very nice!

I agree with Silken

The first plant is Dendrobium Thongchai Gold.
The second one is Phalaenopsis Sogo Little Gem.

Great plants! The Dendrobium has a neat shape.

Unless they came with tags they're NOIDs (for no identification). There are too many hybrids, many unregistered, that look just like these for them to be identifiable. The closest you'll get on the Dendrobium is that it's a Phalaenanthe/Spatulata-type hybrid, often termed Den-Phals. Nice plants, bayarea! :)

The smaller phal looks like a Taida King's Caroline

of course if they don't have IDs there's no way to know for sure exactly what their names are.

Taida King's are heavily striped. maybe there are some mutations. :)

That's true for many hybrids, but many are also very standard in their appearance.

I'm almost 100% with my identification. especially for the dendrobium. I'd be shocked if otherwise.

Thanks all! Good to know :) there's actually a Pacific Orchid Expo here in San Francisco this weekend that I'm really considering going to before I decide to splurge on all these extra care items for my orchids. Here is a closer pic of the mini phals

Oh, the name I gave is not for this one. I have no idea what this is, but I was looking at the forefront on in the second picture, white mini with red lip.
