Nice shot Ron, you always do such a good job capturing the colors!
Thanks for the kind comments, Drew. Getting the colors right is not always easy, but I often use natural light and even then sometimes adjust the color.
Agree! The color is stupendous.
Thanks, Carrie, for the kind comments. Have a great day.
Wow - awesome!
amazing flower....your Masdies grow happy and healthy....my Masdies dont like me....I have yet to have flowers ....
Thanks, Sonya and Bud, and, Bud, you do so well with everything else, surely you'll succeed with Masdevallias as well.
Wow!! Love the colour on this one. Just amazing!!!!
Thanks, Tindo. Much appreciated.
You know I love blue orchids!!
This isn't quite blue, but a greenish purple, so your love is once again for naught. You'll have to move to Australia, start talking funny and pine away at the side of a Thelymitra.
Really cool. I love the way the purple looks like it's seeping through the green/white of the belly. Great pictures as ever!
Always appreciate your kindness and presence here on OB, Rosie.
Hi Ron, What is Saltatrices? The area it comes from?
Bill |
Hi Bill,
Saltarices is a group of Masdevallias (section) that have similar features, a "belly" at the base of the sepaline tube, flowers lined with glandular hairs, tubular flowers, etc. One of the best known species in the section is Masd. strobelii. |
