Monster Den. aggregatum
This isn't my plant, but I thought I'd share with you all anyway! This is a monster Den. aggregatum/ Den. lindleyi (whatever it is they're calling it these days) that was grown in the Florida Southern College greenhouse in Lakeland. It's in my friend's office and I couldn't stop looking at it. I want one!
Please excuse the poor photo quality. I don't have a camera, I only have my phone! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...422111706a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0422111707.jpg |
Jeez. Is it mounted on something, or is there a pot/basket under there somewhere. That is some specimen
|
It's mounted on a big tree fern plaque.
|
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING :yikes: I have always loved these & remember going to orchid shows with my mum when I was growing up and these were my favourites!
I love huge specimens! Thanks alot for posting! :D |

Oh my! There I was this morning, doing a chicken dance because I have 2 spikes starting to form, as opposed to last year's 1. I have ways to go yet. Tell your friend that we're just drooling over the pictures.

Awesome. I'm thinking of mounting my aggregatum too, since it does not seem to like potting as much. It has flowered for the first time this year though, for me.
|
Wow! This is absolutely gorgeous! Good growing!

Yay! Good growing! I have 12 spikes on mine! I hope they bloom in time for the show.

Unbelievable. I have a small one mounted on tree fern and it's still small. Have it 4 years. Has about 4-5 leaves on it. Last year it flowered for the first time, a few flowers. What am I doing wrong???Thanks.
