Hi :waving
I'm in Spring Hill, just a bit southwest of ocala :) |
Hi, Is it Sue or Suzanne? My name is Shirley. I am in Dunnellon. I'll keep in touch. Thanks for responding. A LITTLE hot today and it's not even summer yet. Chat later.

Hi! I'm from Lakeland, which isn't TOO far from Dunellon. Isn't Dunellon near Dunedin? If it is we're rather close -- I'm just further inland!
Welcome to the board -- you'll love it here! |
Hi, I am 22 mile's west of Ocala. To you I'm on the other side of Inverness. Nice to know you Abby. will be chatting soon. Shirley

Hi I'm in Miami. Welcome to our little world, because the orchids hobby is like a hook, you get hook and I love it.
|
I'm in Ft. Lauderdale. Check out the Florida Orchid Lovers social group. Some of the things we discuss are only useful to people growing orchids in our sub-tropical climate. Good luck.

Greetings FPL,
I am in Southwest Ocala and starting to think I was the only one around, (not really, I know there are orchid lovers around here, 'cause the bargain shelves with the half dead plants are always cleared of orchids by the time I get to them ) I've fairly recently gotten bitten by the orchid bug, but have been growing things all my life. I did speak to a Mr. Louis Martin, who lives in Dunnellon, and is a former AOS judge and was active in the Ocala Orchid Soc, when it was in existance. Nice to meet you. Best, Tony |
Dunnellon Lady
Thanks for the reply. Where in Dunnellon does Louis live? I have an orchid that is growing in spag. moss and water. It got 3rd. place last weekend I am secretary of the Rainbow Lakes Garden Club. Hubby and I try to plant alot of drought tolerant plants, as we have terrible looking grass. If it grows it grows, if not we just move on to something else. Shirley

Louis H. Martin
9213 SW 197th Cir Dunnellon FL 34432 He seems like a nice guy and was really surprised that his contact info was still online for a club that has been defunct for 5-6 years! Most everyone I know down here has terrible looking grass! Unless you want to waste thousands of gallons of water on your lawn it ain't gonna grow well in the semi tropics. A lot of folks in our community have/are switching to stones or mulch instead of grass. I have a cacti and succulent garden out front of the house and as many drought-tolerant plants in the yard as possible. Grass is a minimum. Good to meet ya. |
