Phal. equestris 'Orange'
 

Here's my little one. Not as nice as Peter's but not bad for a tiny Keiki. The flowers have more of an orange cast when they first open, especially the lip. As they mature they fade to a pastel pink.

Hello all! I don't know how to post a new thread...been searchin for it on these pages so guess I'll ask my question here and hope someone sees it.

My question is about equestrius blue lip. I'm loving this species...saw em on big leaf orchids. I've always bought my chids at a nursery; never had em shipped. But big leaf is far far away from me.

SO...anyone know where I could find these locally? I live in close to Philly and don't mind driving for an hour of two to keep my chid safe from shipping.

Or if anyone's had good luck with having orchids shipped from this or another vender?

Just worried cause sounds like a lot of time in transport from texas to me :)

Oh, and are these any more difficult to grow than equestrius hybrids as that is what I have now.

Welcome, miowntime!! I have not purchased from that vendor, but of the 100 orchids I presently have, at least 75 have been shipped. The last one I had shipped was from Texas and was mid winter over the holidays. It got here in great condition and is thriving. I normally don't like to ship in winter, but it did fine. Usually you can get them within the week. Don't know specifics on this particular one, but I am starting to want to collect the different equestris orchids. Good luck with your new one.

Hi miowntime, I answered your question in your thread. Peter is a great vendor and I have 2 of his blue-lipped equestris (as well as a few others). You will be happy with any orchid you purchase from BLO.
