This should be made a sticky!! :D

these AOS beginner's series are very helpfull to understand the needs of this group of plants!

Merlyn 08-27-2011 10:18 PM

These links don't work. Is that because of the AOS moving ?

Lars Kurth 08-28-2011 04:54 AM

They work for me: try again. Maybe the site went down or something

Merlyn 08-28-2011 05:35 AM

Just tried again = same thing. I just click on it the screen goes black, then white and nothing else happens. In the http is this; http://www.aos.org/AM/Images/pdf/Beg...ries-Ctsm1.pdf.

Am I supposed to wait, like 5 minutes or something with no visable activity in the tab ? Help !
TIA !

Chryss

you need to be sure you can read PDF files in your browser...

I can open them using Safari, but not with the browser Shiira!

Merlyn 08-28-2011 12:14 PM

Great articles !! Thanks !

Shirley 08-28-2011 09:58 PM

Thanks Lars. Fascinating read. My Catasetum just produced a hermaphroditic bloom and the timing of your post was perfect.

WOW, great links! Thanks!

cycnoches34 04-28-2014 09:01 AM

If interested in Cycnoches or growing them, the 2012 October included a supplement on them and the culture part authored by Fred Clarke is about the same for all the Catasetinae. If you don't get the AOS Orchids, copies of the supplement may be ordered from Naya@AOS.org for $10

orchidsarefun 10-23-2014 10:42 AM

there is also a webinar available - conducted by Fred Clarke. If you like cats, you will love this illustrated talk.

Regelian 12-16-2016 04:35 AM

These links need to be up-dated. They no longer function.

Patrick.Orchidee 01-24-2017 01:47 PM

Hello,

I think i am a few years late, because the links doesn't work any more. But i am still intrested for reading.

Can maybe someone upload the series again?

kdennis14 01-26-2017 05:15 PM

I would like to read them too.

jkofferdahl 01-26-2017 05:41 PM

Most likely the AOS has taken the material down. It may not be available anymore at all.

SouthPark 01-20-2019 04:47 AM

The links in the opening post of this sticky don't work anymore.... but looks like the files still exist for th 7 part series.
google : "Beginners_Series-Ctsm1.pdf"
google : "Beginners_Series-Ctsm2.pdf"
etc....
google : "Beginners_Series-Ctsm7.pdf"

estación seca 01-20-2019 10:50 AM

rbarata posted current links just a few posts above. As of today they are active.

SouthPark 01-20-2019 03:32 PM

Thanks for mentioning where those current working links are located. Amending the links (eg. moderator/admin edit) in the opening post could be handy too - as I notice that this thread is a sticky. Otherwise everybody will see the sticky, then they enter the sticky thread, and then encounter link issues when they click the out-dated links of the opening post.

There will be at least 1 to keep things under control. But maybe not enough to assist with changing out-dated web-links in opening posts of the stickys at the moment.

It's understandable. Maybe they can update it later.

EarlV 09-05-2020 08:52 AM

The links are broken but easily found on AOS site...

Dusty Ol' Man 09-08-2023 10:51 AM

Just an update. The links in post #18 work still. I don't know if the mods can amend the first post with the links in post 18 or not, but it might be worth a try.
