Bulk sphagnum moss?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a supplier that had good prices on bales of Sphagnum ( preferably Chilean) here in the states, or that offers shipping to the states

Baltic states, or United States?

Brotherly Monkey 10-15-2010 05:34 PM

United States.

I am working on a deal for some New Zealand species that were farmed in Peru. Should be of NZ AAA or AAAA quality at more like Chilean pricing. I'll keep you posted.

I'd appreciate that.

Do you want Chilean for a pricing reason?

Just curious why you need so much? I was looking for bulk as well, but not for orchids. I was asked to throw away some Christmas decorations for a customer which happened to be Wire frame structures of Reindeer. Instead of tossing them I thought I would turn them into topiary's. I stripped the lights off them and painted them black. I wrapped the entire thing with fishing string (cheap kind). Then stuff the entire structure with sphagnum. Cost me almost 30.00 dollars (so I only did one). I plugged the structure with English Ivy. I have almost 50.00 in one structure.

That's cool, Dave. You should give him some Cattleya "antlers" and a Brassavola "tail". :)

I buy all my sphagnum from Cal-west. Along with fern fiber pots and all types of pot and basket hangers.
