I just acquired a Dendrobium atroviolaceum compactum. Could someone tell me how often and how much water does it require? I spray the leaves and flowers every morning. Thank you!

Dendrobium atroviolaceum is a completely different species and different section of the genus Dendrobium. It's also one I've not grown - I'd askj for help in the Dendrobium thread.

Very exotic and these blooms last six to eight months, Wow! Are these Dendrobiums uncommon or rare here in the U.S.?
|
wow! the flower have some ethereal quality about it... and looks transparent too!
|
The New Guinea Oxyglossums are not the easiest orchids to find here in the US partly because they require cool temperatures and because they are a bit finicky. Violaceum, however, is one that is just a bit easier to find.

They are lovely, aren't they? Thanks for looking Natasha.
|
How cool does your case get at night at the min temp?
|
Hi Tom,
It gets down to about 55-60 at night during the winter and about 65-70 during the winter. |
What a gorgeous flower! It looks like it glows; looks almost unreal.
