My one and only species phal...it's fun times for sure :)

Nice. I need to get me one of these ;) Maybe I'll find one at the SOOS show.

You both need more than one . This is a great species, easy to grow and bloom, and will bloom any time of the year.

Nice blooms! I'm addicted to Phal equestris, and now have 6 different forms of it! Everyone should have at least one equestris in their collection. Super easy to grow, and blooms its head off!

Well done!

Very nice! I can't believe I still don't have one.

Phal. equestris is a wonderful plant, free-blooming and often prone to producing keikis. It's also one of the easier Phals to grow. Yours is lovely!

Nice one Calvin.
Sure have something to look forward to from my seedlings. One of my favourite phal species!

quiltergal 01-20-2010 03:20 PM

You just can't go wrong with equestris Calvin! Yours is very nice. I agree you need some of the other forms.

It's gorgeous Calvin,

The very very top of my wish list is equestris, followed close behind by Mini Mark. I plan to try and get hold of both of them this year.

It's a great picture of it!

Beautiful equestris, Calvin!

I have a little keiki I received from a friend on OB. It's growing well (including a large, slightly obscene new root  ). I hope it puts on a show like yours one day!

haha :) mine also seems to only grow roots and not leaves...weird

Thanks for checking my plant out, guys :)

Mine grew a nice new leaf before the root started to grow. But it's just a little keiki with 3 leaves, and about a 2.5 inch leaf span. Maybe yours just feels that it has enough leaves and wants more roots at the moment.

I got one of these around Christmas. Its healthy, needs repotting. What is the best medium for this species?

Ranchnanny 02-13-2010 01:04 AM

I love mine..... the moma orchid had a keiki 1.5 years ago and I cut it off and they were both blooming at the same time. I did give the baby to one of my friends. They are fun you can count of them reblooming.

Both of mine are in s/h medium and doing well.

Sheridan
