My first Masdevallia! Masd. cosmia.

Cute!

How cool looking! That gives me an idea....Masdie's need to be on the raffle and door prize table at my local orchid society meetings...I think I'll tell them they need to start mixing it up...lol....or perhaps I'll help contribute....but not from my own collection...lol.

That's a happy looking plant. Thanks for the great photos.

That's very pretty, Jim! How was Glenn's talk? Tell me you got a kovachii or some Pk hybrid from him:biggrin: Even if you didn't, I know you were tempted....

I walk into the room and the club president walks up to me shakes my hand, introduces himself, hands me a ticket, and asks my name. At first I was a little taken aback. Now I'm thinking "I love this place!" :rofl: Cheers. Jim |

The competition to get crosses out ASAP is intense! To the point where some claimed kovachii crosses Glen does not believe actually have kovachii as a parent. With some experience in plant breeding, I tend to agree. If it takes approximately 3 years from seed to flower, and Glen flowered one of his latest hybrids for the first time last year, how can you submit pictures of the flower of a new kovachii hybrid, with that newly flowered plant from last year as a parent? The offspring should be 2 years away from flowering! Glen believes a lot of them are besseae crosses. Needless to say, I'm sticking with only Glen's plants for the time being (not that I got any). I actually didn't buy any from Glen this time although I was tempted. He had a blooming size P. kovachii for $300 and a couple of his hybrids for $125. I missed a Suzanne Decker in the raffle by 1 number! But I did score one of his Paph spicerianum '#2' x Paph. Stone Lovely 'CH4' as a gift for joining the club. So all-in-all not a bad night; a private conversation with Glen and 2 free plants for my first club meeting. :biggrin: Cheers. Jim |
I like it, especially the color. What is the size of the flowers?
Marilyn |
Marilyn;
The flowers are quite small; less than 1/2 inch. The first pic of the whole plant is slightly larger than life-size (maybe about 110-115%). Cheers. Jim |
Really cute little blooms! Thanks for sharing.
