Anyone on Facebook? / OB on FB!!! :)
Yes, I know. It's trendy and semi-cheesy. But I use it anyway. If you do, say so. I think it might be fun to organize a little Orchid community there.

I am on the facebook as I am sure alot of us probably are. A orchid community on there sounds like a fantastic idea!!
|
Sounds good! I am interested, too.
|
I'm there also but I don't use it much.
|
I recently joined facebook and even searched for Orchid Board on it.

I set up a group for OB members.
I'm going to make the group an open group. Anybody can join without my approval. Maybe we can introduce some new folks to Orchidboard ;) Do a search on Facebook for Orchidboard on FB  See you there ;) |

I like the idea too...with just one caveat ;)
If I see that more conversations are happening over there than here... :bad: ... :tapfoot: ... ... the FB group will be :closed :D |
What a great idea!! I'm on Facebook and have sent my request.
|
Wooo Hoooo:banana::banana::banana:
:thankyou |
Hi again :waving
I'm going to make the group an open group. Anybody can join without my approval. Maybe we can introduce some new folks to Orchidboard ;) Thanks :) |
I too have a FB page and put in a request under Katilyn.macleod@gmail.com.
|
Changed my mind (I'll make the changes in my previous posts too).
I'm going to make the group an open group. Anybody can join without my approval. Maybe we can introduce some new folks to Orchidboard ;) Have fun (/udb) |

Hi I neither introduced myself properly, but I could not find orchiboard on FB. Do you know why?
|
Quote:
hmm - I hope that works otherwise - just type orchidboard (one word) in the search box on FB :) |
Thanks for the link! I'm in!
|
This may be a stupid question, but what is the advantage of Facebook over Orchidboard? Will that eliminate a lot of the interesting threads on OB?
Marilyn |
Facebook is more of a social club...a place for us to interact more as friends than orchid-growers. We will all continue to participate on OB just as much as we do now. I think it could be a great way to get orchid growers who are unaware of Orchidboard to come check us out :cheer:
Orchidboard comes first...always ;) |

Woot, Woot... I've been creating a group for over a year on FB... Thanks Sue for finally doing it. :cheer:
|
I just joined FB not sure if I like it or not lots of things on it to figure out ..

Hm... I'm usually quite paranoid about joining groups on FB, but may give it a try.

Screw it, I'm joining up. |
The act of joining the OB group on Facebook doesn't automatically make all other group members your FB friends. If you want to take it a step further and become FB friends, you have to put in a request, as usual. It would have nothing to do with being a member of the OB group.
:cheer: |

... wat Okay, maybe not to that extent, but you get the picture. |

everyone will know you are 'one of those crazy orchid people' ;) |
|
I just joined FB this summer to stay in touch with friends and share pictures. I am still learning how to do things on OB and learning how to do things there.

The black helicopters came by my house last night. I found they retreat quite quickly, though, when you throw the old, wilted blossoms at them. |
And all this time I just the helicopters were flying by because we lived on their flight path.

Funny you mention that. Few months ago, my friend/last roommate once admitted to me that he only knew me from the previous year as that "Asian guy who runs around taking pictures and keeps a bunch of cool plants in the RC (residential college) lounge." |
