I Didn't Buy Any!
 

Just got back from visiting family in Florida. Thereis this guy who sells phals around town. I think he gets them from Apopka???? Anyway he sells the 5" at 3/$20 and the 4" at 5/$20. It was tough not walking out with some, but I have most of what he was selling this time. His stock changes week to week and they are all good quality...anyway the roots look good! And the flowers are hugh...some 5" across! I know it is all in the genetics and the growing but they do look good!

That must of be one of my FAV growers that I gave you the list? Here in Central FL? As It sure looks like them :)

I think so, As I recognize the wraps and boxes that they have in/around the chids. Those are wrapped for deliveries to local stores.

No Jackie, this guy is in Stuart Fl. I think he gets his [plants from a grower in Apopka...

Ohhh ok! I guess he learns how to wrap them from the Apopka growers ;)

You didn't buy any, Doc??????? Sad, that's very sad. Those are great prices. There's a nursery/little farm 5 minutes from the house where I've been spending a lot of money lately. They too, get a new shipment in weekly on all their Phals. The 4" go for $4.99 and 6" go for $8.99. They have had the best selection this year. They have all sizes, huge arrangements for unbelievable prices. It's times like these that I really love living in Florida.:biggrin:

While they say, "Home is where the heart is.", I sure do love warm and sunshine and green trees and southern breeze and ... and .... and wearing shorts! These plants looked really nice but the growers create the perfect "climate" for them...

Could you share this guy's name and location? I'm 5 miles up the road from Stuart, and would love some plants this size for those prices ....

Don't have a name but he is located on Monterey were it divides just west of SE Federal Hwy. on the south side of the street. He usually has the chids out on the street so you can't miss them and has a G/H out back. Some days he has some nice chids other days not so good... just depends when he gets them in from up north-central FL. The other place to go is Tropical Isles in Stuart. Alexis runs the place. She has catts and vandas. Her address is 5515 SE Ault Ave, 260-6490. You have to call and arrange a time to to the G/H

Has nothing to do with any illness.... He has mostly (98%) NOID phals.... not that there is anything wrong with NOID's but I have a relatively large phal collection and most of what he has is the same or similar to what I already have. I must say if you are just starting out and phals are what you want, this is a GREAT place to start because they are cheap and replaceable if you knock one off.... now I'm getting into Bulbos and Catts

I have no idea how you resisted buying several of those orchids. I would have had to buy a few of the "orange" looking Phals. They were priced quite a bit lower than the local Hausermann's.
