Lc. Memoria Robert Strait 'Blue Hawaii'
'Blue Hawaii' is one of several varieties of Lc. Memoria Robert Strait that have been cloned and made available to orchidists. The shape of 'Blue Hawaii' is not great but the color of the lip and pencil thin flares are outstanding. This plant was raised from a community pot purchased in July 2005.

Fabulous is the word! Always wanted to add it to my collection, but have never found it available here in Brazil! What a shame! Congratulations on you beautiful flower!

I picked up one of these a while back. I'm anxiously awaiting - especially now. Nice pics!
Does this one bloom for you in a particular season or on each mature growth? |
Very nice, I love it, thanks!

wow.. both clones are gorgeous...
|
Mel,
They both look great! I remember that this one has one of the strongest Catt scents. I wish we could broadcast smells across the internet! |
They both look so gorgeous! :cloud9: Everytime I see pics of this orchid on OB it just makes me want it even more!
|
I like both of them.
|
Very gorgeous!
|
I have a pretty small plant of 'Blue Hawaii' that decided it would try blooming this winter. The flower was bigger than the plant!
But it was beautiful and lasted and lasted! I love it! The 'Islanders Delight' is gorgeous and does have a better from but give me 'Blue Hawaii'!!! Yours is simply perfect!!! |

Bought a similar plant, a rescue plant in poor shape, it has a new root growth but seems to be a slow grower than the other cattleya's. Thanks for the picture and knowing it is a fragrant plant is a bonus. Fragrant flowers are my weakness.20161213_163708.jpg

Now I see it. Cattleya growth is proportional to temperature. Some hybrids make new growths, one after another, all year long. Others are seasonal.
