I really wish I could take credit for blooming this but I can't. This was part of my haul last week-end from Greenearth Orchids and the buds were still really tight...her parents are Cyc. Bo Day Shus 'Carmen Luis Capriles' AM x Cyc. cooperi 'Crownfox' AM/AOS (thanx Sue :blushing: )

Right now, she's in an east facing windowsill. I'll probably keep her in the same type of light as my stan and gongora...

OMG!!! :yikes: This great little guy sits on my kitchen windowsill and the scent carries ALL OVER the kitchen, dining room and living room....although I'm never any good at describing a flower's scent, this one's a no brainer....it's a combination of magic marker and moth balls!!! :rofl: :rofl: . It isn't offensive in the slightest but it deinately doesn't smell like a catt!!!

Thanks! The problem is, however, that I dont order plants from the mainland because I would need a phytosanitary cert to get plants out here to Hawaii and its expensive. Many of the new hybrids tend to make their way out to the islands eventually and since I go to a good half dozen shows or so, Ill keep my eyes peeled for one these plants! I appreciate the heads up though! Thanks!

I wanted to expand on the description of the scent for this loverly flower. :yikes:

It would seem that the "older" the flowers get they, er...umm....share this really strange odor and yes, I mean ODOR!!! :gasp: :gasp:

I walked into our kitchen last night (the plant is on my windowsill) and I couldn't figure our why there was this smell..I thought my DH had forgotten to take the garbage out...SERIOUSLY...!!! :rofl: The flowers smelled like dead fish!! :tombstone: :tombstone: , which I guess wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't 20 flowers....:rofl: :crackup:

my Cych-NO-ches is SICK-O-NING during the evening hours!!!
