Any fishermen here?

Here is a pic of hubby with a small pike. He's loved fishing for awhile and I've recently gotten into it as well. After I hooked my first big Rainbow Trout I was 'hooked'. Now we go fairly often. Somewhere i have a pic of me with a small bass but all the big fish pics are on film.:(

He put up a huge fight. I hooked him 300 feet down. He took out 700 feet of line. Took me about 45 min to reel him in. We got 12 salmon that day, although this was the largest one. We used a harring filet with a dipsy diver. This was about 5mi off shore.

NY: that's a great flying fish

Marco 11-02-2006 09:35 AM

Stan I totally love seeing that one with the seagull.

Wendy 11-02-2006 02:18 PM

Nice fish! The seagull pic is cool.

Here is a better one of hubby with his most recent catch.

That's a beautiful trout !!! What's the location ?

Wendy 11-02-2006 04:09 PM

That was at Meaford, Ontario. We fish there and Thornbury. Have you ever been there? I'm new to this fishing thing and I'm slowly going to more places with the guys when they go....it's awesome!!!

Marco 11-03-2006 02:52 PM

hey Stan :poke: empty your pm box will ya? I tried sending you a pm. I sent it to you on ST instead

Marty 11-03-2006 05:12 PM

No, we usually go much lower, around Goderich area. That's too big of a drive for me.

Shadow 11-03-2006 09:02 PM

I like fishing but I always let the fish go at the end of fishing. I like the taste of fish but I cannot see it alive and then cooked. That's why I always buy fish that is already dead .

Wendy 11-14-2006 11:49 PM

Woohoo...we're going to Meaford again this weekend. It will be so cold but who cares...look out fish; here i come. Anyone want to join me? Be sure to dress very warm...as in a ski suit and a touque. Don't forget the insulated rubber boots and the hand warmer packs.   I'll meet you there!

phragguy 11-15-2006 07:44 AM

Would meet you there but will be fishing here in Goderich

Wendy 11-17-2006 09:27 PM

Cool fishes Gin. I bet they were good eating!

Well the roe bags are all tied and we're ready to go. Up at 4:30AM and gone by 5. Junior doesn't want to go with us so he gets to stay home and watch the fort. It's going to be cold but what the heck....

Russell...Have fun in Goderich! I'll have to get over there one weekend. Let me know the best place to go. :D

Wendy 11-18-2006 07:15 PM

What a nice relaxing day. Hubby and I both caught two Rainbows each. I love the fight the best...so satisfying to actually catch one. We released them all and hope to catch them again another day.

So how did the rest of the fishermen here do today?

Now I'm off to the couch to watch a hockey game....GO LEAFS GO!!!!! :cheer:

phragguy 11-19-2006 08:49 AM

We could not fish as the river was blown out. To much rain here, Now we have snow.
Watched the Leaf game.
Off to Orchid Meeting today and to pick up a new plant Wendy left at the show last week for me.
