Pleurothalis grobyi in new Erin pot
This little bugger just keeps on blooming...When I first saw the Erin pots, I knew that I wanted one for this little guy and just hoped that the flowers would stick around long enough for me to enjoy them in their new pot.
I like the way that the colors of the pot play off of the green/maroon plant and cream flowers! Thankfully he cooperated and kept sending out new spikes for me to enjoy!:cheer: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...m/IMG_2828.jpg |
WOW, that looks great!
This plant always intrigues me because of how tiny it is but I don't usually think "WOW, that looks great!" when it's mounted as they usually are. Yours in this pot makes me rethink it! ;) |
Picture perfect!
It looks awesome! :) |
That's such a perfect combination!!!

These pots are really doing magic on the looks of your plants. Love this species by the way. You should try photographing it against some stones, mossy stones as background.

Thanks for the compliments. Given the heat that we've been having here in Fla, finding mossy stones might be hard for me to do, but I agree it would look nice as a background. I'll try and take some better photos, I just snapped these on the spur of the moment...

wow ,wow wow!

Totally awesome, Laura! I completely agree with Sue - that pot really makes the plant stand out. It transforms a cute plant into a spectacular plant!! Great job! (And now I don't feel so bad about missing out on that pot! It suits your plant like it was made for it!)

Very nice! What's your secret to success for this one?
|
No real secret here!
I bought this 2 years ago and it came in a tiny pot with spag that had turned green. I kept in on my windowsill in the kitchen until it quit blooming. It then got stuck out in the pseudo greenhouse aka. an old horse stall turned greenhouse on a shelf in fairly bright light and it gets watered almost daily in the hot months, and slightly less frequently in the color months. When I saw the erin pots, I knew right away that this one would be a good candidate for one, as it is so small and I could only allow myself to buy the smaller pots. When the pot arrived I just pulled it out of one it came in a shoved it into the new one, with some new spag as filler... It seems quite happy as it sent out around 12 spikes last month and as they died off, it has continued to send out new ones, although much fewer in number. |
It's beautiful, expecially in that pot. I tried to buy a Pleurothalis grobyi but the dealer never got back to me. Guess I'll try somewere else.
