It would be difficult to find a more beautiful hybrid phal.

I so agree, the coloration is just spectacular!

I have the same type and mine doesn't even compare!

Edited to add: OK, mine doesn't compare because it's the Salu 'Water Spots'. roflolol

Grandma M 05-26-2008 10:00 AM

It's so perfect that it doesn' even look real. Beautiful picture.

Rothie 05-26-2008 11:06 AM

Stunning coloration.

khill 05-26-2008 11:11 AM

WOW! That is stunning!

jkofferdahl 05-26-2008 11:13 AM

I saw a very similar plant for sale yesterday, but didn't buy it. Now I'm glad I didn't, because after seeing this one I would be disappointed with it.

Absolutely gorgeous Al! I must find some more interesting Phals. Do you have a pic that shows the whole flower spray?

cupcake 05-26-2008 11:22 AM

Spectacular! On the large shot the texture looks like suede.

Here's another shot of it. I wish the color was truer, it's actually a darker red than the pictures. The close up is closer. For some reason (I'm still fighting with my camera) reds and yellows do not seem to photograph true.

That is soooo pretty! I have to find myself one of these. Is it a large plant?

Thanks for the additional pic. I have the same problem with my camera. The reds are either too red or not red enough. Yellow isn't such a problem.....course I don't have anything yellow that has bloomed yet!

Very nice shaped flower, and the photograph is of good quality!

I have found that I am able to capture the truest colors when my photographs are composed in the outdoors, under natural light.

Thanks Corbin, I can't wait to try outdoor photography of my 'chids but the temps are just to cold. It's 46f here today. Maybe by July!

This is the first year blooming. The spike is about 18". I expect it to be of 'average' height next year.
I'd say a medium compared to some hybrids that have spikes 3 and 4 feet long.

quiltergal 05-30-2008 03:19 PM

Well I did it! I ordered it from Oak Hill with two traveling companions. The TCs are Phal. Yellowstone 'Floracultura', and Phal. Mini Mark 'Holm'. I have been soo bad this spring. I really need to stop buying plants for awhile!

caseydoll 05-30-2008 05:53 PM

Terri, I got one too! :coverlaugh: :blushing: A month or so ago I also got the Mini Mark too. It's so cute, you'll love it! I need to stop too. I think this is going to be my last one! It has to be, I almost need another shelf!

Bird Song Farm 05-30-2008 06:23 PM

I was looking at the Mini Mark this afternoon........sure would like to have it......hmmmm...is there room for one more on that shelf if I move things around a bit?
Al

caseydoll 05-30-2008 06:28 PM

I think you should do it Al! I got mine from Oak Hill and it wasn't in spike. Now it does have a spike and I'm really excited. The whole plant is so small and cute. And Oak Hill really has good prices. It's in spike there too isn't it?

Tindomul 05-31-2008 09:47 AM

LOL Sarah, me too!! They're getting packed in there pretty tight. I just received two new plants from H&R yesterday that I have to squeeze in somewhere. Thankfully they're little.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Al. I'll be quiet now! (BTW, I think you definitely need a Mini Mark! Check Oak Hill)
