C. Mareeba Tiger. Been growing it for 3 years…it’s put out multiple blind sheaths and finally gave 2 flowers. The growth is low slung and weaving up between other plants so the presentation is poor. Beauties nonetheless.

Sweet and something just south of cinnamon. Very nice.

Lc. Jalapa Ruben’s 4N x C. Bactia Grape Wax. Lovely sweet fragrance and stunning color. The substance is super thick and waxy.

Encyclia phoenicea. I have 2 of these and one was about to crash from root rot due to excessive watering in the “winter”. Both were potted and the healthier one still is which has tried to flower 3 times but always aborts. These came off of the one with root rot which I was able to mount 2 portions of.

How would you describe the fragrance of your Encyclia Phoenicia?

Cupcakes. Very strong and sweet vanilla and cocoa notes. Lovely!
