Came home with these: Epi veroscriptum x Epi ilense Slc Tutakamen 'POP' Hwra Lava Burst 'Paunani' Slc Precious Stones x C leopoldii Den Little Sweetscent Tolu Tequila Sunrise and another Max tenuifolia |
Great choices.
Wow, that sounds like fun. I sure wish I had someone who liked to go orchid shopping with me. Thursday I hope to go to Green Acres orchid shopping. I hope to find some small growing plants to go in my little Erin Pottery pots. Anyone want to join me? :waving Marilyn |
Sounds like fun, Marilyn
let us know what you get :cheer: |
Sue, Great plants! That Den looks like its bursting with buds! But, spill the beans... what did Laura get???
Laura??? Yoo- Hoo!! We wanna see your:photo: too! |
She got a few really nice ones too
I'll never catch up! :whew |
Sue, the new chids will be in great company with the rest of your collection. Looks like ya made out like a bandit! :bowing
|
I started with just 3 on the table up front...then kept walking around and somehow the other three sneaked up there! :coverlaugh:
|
Ah-ha! Basket jumpers!! Orchids are really good at using those aerial roots to just jump off the bench and into your basket! Happens to me all the time!
|
Great Haul!! I love the coconut orchid!
|
Nice! I love the Hwra Lava Burst 'Paunani', but am totally unfamiliar with that genus. What does it stand for? It's a hybrid?
(Already posted in another thread about the tequila!) |
The Hwra. Lava Burst is a Howeara hybrid.
It's a chid I've always loved...don't know why I didn't have it sooner than now :scratchhead: |
A Howeara (Hwra.) is the intergeneric hybrid of Leochilus, Oncidium and Rodriguezia (Lchs x Onc x Rdza).
Hwra. Lava Burst = Hwra Mini Primi x Rodriguezia secunda Hwra. Mini Primi = Rodontocidium Primi x Leochilus oncidioides Rodontocidium Primi = Oncidium sarcodes X Rodriguezia lanceolata :D |
Wow. Thanks, Dorothy! I think I'm going to need a shot of tequila just to help process all that.
In any event, it's truly beautiful! |

I expect it will be late morning. She said she had several appointments Thursday. I have no idea how to get there once I hit Charlotte. I'm an old lady, I hope I don't end up in Lansing. Maybe I could go visit Jennifer. |
Sue, does Louis Del Favero's in TPA have a website? As I did a search for them, and can't find them. Or can you plz give us some kind of number or address if they don't?
I'm not far from there, so I'd really like to sneak over there on day, and buy some some babies!! |
He doesn't have a web site but if you can possibly make it there this weekend, you'll be pleasantly surprised :)
There will also be one or two other vendors there, I'm just not sure who it will be this time. Louis Del Favero Orchids 6601 Gant Rd Tampa, FL 813-961-8277 |
Ross, if you can guessestimate when you will be there, possibly we can meet there. It would be nice to have a cup of coffee together and talk orchids.
