cattleya acliandae. New growth?
had this for a few months now. When It arrived like many of the other plants, it came with heat stressed set of leaves. Cut em off. Right where I cut the shoot, A root popped out then this. Its been so long I'm sorry, is it New shoot or a bloom?
It would just make my day if I got this to gimme a flower. Regardless, Im glad to see this plant is accepting me. :) this is one of Peter T. Lins "cattleya acliandae 'Super' 4N." Thanks in advance :) https://photos.smugmug.com/Diamonds/...20shoot-X2.jpg |
It's a new growth. With every new growth there's a possibility to have a sheath. With every sheath there's a possibility to have a spike.
So, it's a new growth that might develop (or not) a spike. |
Definitely a rhizome, but it looks like the meristem has been broken out of it.
|
Aclandiae opens its leaves while simultaneously blooming. Buds will form inside the new growth as its maturing and the emerge as the leaves open. It’s like a slow motion bloom vomit, or at least that’s how it seems to work in my broken brain. 😅😅
