ya since the pandemic i found thousands of orchids in garbage bins none of them have roots.

How sad! And this one is rather unusual... generic Phals often meet an ignominious end, but this one is a surprise. Good catch!

someone must have bought orchids wholesale and gave up on them since a lot of them are missing roots and have no foliage. So many expensive ones here too.

If any have any roots at all, they might be worth grabbing. Sometimes a rootless orchid can be brought back, and then you either have a free orchid to keep, or you can sell it or give it away.

I think must of us around here love the challenge of rootless orchid.... that garbage bin could it be our heaven.

Any with plump pbulbs (preferably 3 pbulbs) are salvageable, even without roots. Look into back bulb cultivation. Some of us here have done it successfully.
