Wonderful Lc. Sheila Lauterbach 'Equilab' FCC/AOS

This is one of the most beautiful semi-alba ever bred in my opinion! I remember when it first appeared in the 80's, I could not stop drooling! So many years later I still look forward to seeing it every year!

It was not easy to find it here also Marilyn, at least until recently, when it was meristemed again. This one is an old plant from the first time it was cloned. I also have a plant from the new batch, but think it is not so perfect as the old meristem (that's the problem with meristeming an already meristemed plant!). I don't know of its availability in the USA, but it was awarded an FCC some years ago (2000, if memory serves me well). The awarded plant was exhibited by Laura Ellen Cooper at the Brevard County Orchid Society Show, Florida.
Hope you find it, sooner or later (better sooner, than later:) )

The white edge on the lip is gorgeous. Another that looks like a painting, Mauro!

In my limited experience I have yet too see such a sized Cat. Ok, maybe just huge. But you must admit, 17.7 cm is very large.
how big is 17.7 inches? hehe At this point in my life I am more familiar with the metric system than the english.

Marilyn, I found this plant to be a must have so I did some searching and found it at Lowe's Orchids in Hawaii. It will be a while before you would see blooms because they are seedlings. Only $10.00, by the way. I just received six miniature/compact cattleya plants that I ordered from Lowes. They were all four inch pot size and out of six, five were in bud and all were in very good condition. Prices were incredibly cheap at eight to ten dollars. I will be placing another order with Lowes for Lc Sheila Lauterbach as soon as I can decide on some other plants.

Chubidubi 07-13-2008 07:25 PM

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I want to pay 12.50 to mail a 10.00 plant. I may wait until I find something else to order with it. I really love that one.

Marilyn
