Greenhouse shade paint advice needed

I’m hoping someone could advise on shading for my new greenhouse. I understand that many growers recommend aluminet 50% shade cloth which I’m having trouble finding at a reasonable price in the UK, I can only get 75% which I think would be too much shade. I’ve been looking at the white paint you can apply to the glass and wondering if anyone has any experience using it? The fact it becomes more transparent in wet weather seems like a plus in my climate and I would guess the white colour might have some cooking effect. My other option would be the green or black shade cloth but I would be concerned the space would get too hot. Any help would be much appreciated!

I've used shade paint. It gradually wears off, by winter it's mostly gone. We quit using it because our greenhouse was pretty tall and we had a hard time rolling it on. In my opinion, I liked it. Nothing blowing off or hanging down. I got it from my wholesaler but, I'm sure you can get it online.

A friend in the UK has this on their growing space. I've sent an email to ask where they got theirs from.

A double check... you did say that was on poly panels, right?

Mine was on 5 year UV poly. I've seen it used on panels as well. Worked fine.

I asked my friend in the UK about the aluminet cloth he has on his grow space. He said he got his via ebay from a UK supplier, he checked and the UK supplier is gone. The only source he could find on ebay was China.
Sorry.

Only place I saw any of the cloth was amazon uk.

This company sells pre-cut pieces for shading animals and automobiles, but maybe they can help you:

I think you misunderstood. Shade paint goes on the poly/glass part of the greenhouse to reflect/diffuse sunlight. It is generally white. You paint your house/garage/shed/barn different colors because you like them (although your neighbors might not).

My neighborhood was full of mid-century modern style houses set in desert landscapes. Almost all have been torn down to be replaced by enormous, ugly jumbles of square boxes, painted grey and black, with lawns and white roses. I'm going to start painting my house highly saturated bright tropical colors.

Yes! Like the colors on those houses from the movie The Birdcage! The teal and hot pink accents! Lovin it.

You guys have never seen our house color? But we're talking shade paint for a greenhouse, which has to be functional.

Oh sure have! In this neck of the woods, purple is a common color amongst those who are KSU fans. Manhattan is an hour due west of here. Although many like to do the darker purple, with lighter purple and white trims. I love your house color Dolly! Interestingly enough, my old dear friend Sondra's house was painted almost exactly the same color.
