Sedirea subparishii

This is the second year I have been able to coax this one into bloom. It is fragrant during the day.

I like it. It is amazing to see how variable this cross can be. How well does it grow for you? Anything special you do for culture?

I didn't know it was a cross. I thought it was a species. I grow it with 1/2 day of full sun and ~70F at night and ~85F in the day in the summer. In the winter I grow it with the same light level but about 10F cooler. I keep it moist during the summer and let it dry just to the point where the leaves are slightly wrinkled during the winter.

JPMC - not to worry, you were right, it is a soecies, one of only two in the genus. It's nice to see someone actually growing it, not many people are aware of the species. Congratulations on getting it to bloom. Do you remember who you bought it from?

Thank you. I got it at a local orchid show. I think that that vendor got it from Dowery Orchids.

Thanks for the information. When it tried looking it up I must have been getting the wrong orchid.

Very cool, Jay! You've got great taste in orchids.

For those who are not aware...

As far as I know, and according to his website, Dwayne from Dowery Orchids is no longer selling orchids. He's just operating his farm now.
