Some of my dendrobiums in bloom
Love these guys! Lots of flowers and super long lasting! :)
Last three, especially Genting Fragrance, smells very nice! 1. Sakda Blue 2. Jaq-Arcuatum 3. Burana Jade 4. Chao Praya Gem 5. NOID white 3 6. Genting Fragrance 7. NOID blue I have some more that are beginning to spike now and I am just so excited about it, although given the limited light I can give them here, I don't expect to see as many flowers as I did in the summer. |
Well done!

Wow, your place must look like a florist's shop! Lovely blooms!

Your Burana Jade doesnt look like mine.Mine Is quite green with a much deeper purple lip. Wonder which is correct.

Sorry about the little confusion. By the way, Den.Burana Jade comes in a few different tone of color, and like mine is a little brighter, some more yellowish,,,some has deep dark purple lip I get confused with some other variety like Thongchai Gold. You can share your photo here so I can see :) I love dendrobiums! |

I placed the Genting Fragrance in the bathroom and it smells like purfume all day! :) |
Beautiful! I have four of these now as they really do put on a nice show a few times a year and the flowers are long lasting. If they had a strong fragrance, I think they would be the perfect orchid!

Leafmite[/QUOT] As mentioned in the original thread, some of mine has a wonderful scent and fill up my room during the day! Then again, most of these guys are either not fragrant or you have to get close to it to sense the frangrance. |
I love that Genting Fragrance--how big does it grow? I have an antelope type that is the same color, but in miniature.I would like to look for one like yours, but size is a determining factor. I couldn't handle a three-foot plant...
P.S. Thanks for all your suggestions on how to bloom the Canary Song. I will follow your ideas and cross my fingers...:bowing |
The tallest cane on my Genting Fragrance stands about 40cm (1.5ft), so it is not that tall, although I believe it has a potentiall to get bigger.
Mine is a couple of years old, so I think what I get is probably the norm. The flower spike on that tallest cane is even longer, reaching over 2ft with about 40 little delicate looking flowers. It looks much better in person. The picture doesn't really capture the color very well. It has brown/dark burgundy petals and bright pink lavendar lip. This is the most floriferous hard cane dendrobium I have. Others carry somewhere between 10 and 20, and the one with cannaculatum in their breeding background tends to have easily over 20 per spike, and often sweetly scented. Did I already say my Genting Frangrance is filling up my bathroom with its perfume all day everyday? It is light but powerful! How's your Yellow Song doing by the way? Mine is turning yellow and dropping most of its leaves. |
