Online Sellers of Catasetums?

Besides Sunset Valley Orchids what other online seller would you recommend? I keep searching for a few kinds of Catesetums and I'm not finding much out there besides Ebay and Etsy.

United States shipping.

You have to up for Stephen's email blast since he only sells his plants once or twice a year, on specific days.

Here's another online vendor that sells plants more regularly: Rare Orchids, Supplies and Flasks

Ecuagenera, occasionally. LA Orchid Connection (on eBay), occasionally. And some other vendors would have common ones like Wine Delight or After Dark. If you have access to orchid shows or could coordinate imports, there are other Brazilian, Colombian, Taiwanese, and Singapore vendors who have them.

I've gotten a few healthy plants from Rogue Orchids as well, and would have recommended them. But as you could see, the website is extremely outdated, and Trent rarely responds to emails if ever. I believe he used to be based out of Yorba Linda, CA and have since moved to Florida during the Covid lockdown, but don't quote me on it. He still has occasional listings on eBay under 714disanuts.

I do not recommend Rare Earth Orchids and Orchids Amore (e.g. Pelican Coast Farms). They have a nice selection, and Stephen is a pleasant guy. But I've gotten an extremely high rate of virused plants from these vendors. And I've since spoken to another eBay vendor whom I got a virus from. I asked him where he got his plants from, and he lists Rare Earth among others. I asked him to run a test on his plants from Rare Earth, and they came back positive. So it's not just an isolated issue. Buyer beware.

Peruflora contact@orchidsperuflora.com has some - they will be in the US for the Tamiami show at the beginning of October, so I expect that they will be shipping once they are in the US. (Need to get any orders in very soon since they will be preparing their shipments with paperwork in the next week or two) Caution... plants may be a bit slow to establish since seasons need to flip.

bbb-orchids specializes in catasetums but I don't know the quality of their orchids, hoping to buy some flasks from them but just waiting on my order to be ready in the next month.

Also caution, your chances of getting a successful switch to northern hemisphere growing is to buy imports in the spring. I have a 50-50 survival ratio for Catasetums when buying in spring, as does Fred Clarke. I suspect buying in fall is a lower chance of survival.

I grow most of my plants under lights indoors in a heated terrarium - would that help or is it your experience that they "just know" somethings off and then struggle?
