Orchiata bark vs. Better-Gro bark
Default

here's my take- i have never used either but...

i find that a series of plastic baskets i have make my life easier and cheaper- i'll explain..I have three plastic tubs with 1x1 holes, one with 3/4"x3/4" holes, and one with 2x2 holes

I buy big bags of lava rock and run it through the tubs into three buckets- 1, 2 and 3/4 inch rocks

i buy the large bags of charred hardwood and do the same and i buy large bags of bark nuggets and break the apart by hand and then run them through the tubs- i also have buckets of perlite and coir and peat moss (firehouse subs has $2 food grade buckets with lids)

i only have to do this a few times a year, maybe once or twice, and i can accommodate basically any culture needed when you add in mounts.

I spend less than $50 for all the medium i'll use in a year
