How do you attach a vanda to a wire to hang with no pot? Male

I've only seen them hanging in tiny pots. The reason for this is that as the plant becomes heavier/bigger it could be damaged by any wire hanger attached directly to the plant. Maybe a wire and then a stocking tie? The small pots are inexpensive anyway but I'm curious if someone has a practical method.
