I see you already discussed and came to a resolution about the question of how aggressively to remove the old medium, but I'll just add that I think you made the right decision. I've done it both ways, and plants I am more gentle with don't seem to come to any harm, while plants I have been rough with seem to take longer to recover from the repot. I remove what will come off easily, and just leave the rest. There have even been occasions where the root ball was so tight that I couldn't get much medium at all out, and I have just dropped the plant into a larger pot with the root ball mostly intact. Those plants just went right on like nothing had ever happened.

My opinion: your choice of bark and moss mixed yields good results. Also, with a rootbound mass, the sink sprayer can be helpful.

Should I repot my Mlttssa Royal Robe ?
Default Update Mlttssa Royal Robe

Almost 1 year since repotting and she's a monster now! My concern is currently she has about 11 new growths and several of them have new growth starting on them😕 Only a couple have fully matured some look like they didn't complete the growth but stopped in the middle kinda. There has been no flower spikes I was just reading on a different thread and sounds like the end of summer is their flowering season so that might be why. Since she wasn't flowering I changed her location so she's getting more light. Just wondering if this is a normal growth pattern for these types or if I'm doing something wrong or am I just over thinking the situation?
