Question repotting Brassavola Jimminey Cricket

This is a plant I have had for several years. It has died off in the middle of the plant. Should I cut it in half or just repot it and hope it grows some leads in the middle?

Bigger colonies of growths tend to be more robust than to smaller ones, but if it's growing well for you, as long as you keep the divisions a minimum of about 3 old growths plus a new, emerging one, they'll be fine.

Thank you Ray. It is a large plant so no problems with having enough to cut it in half. I think I already know the answer to this, just didn't want to cut it.
