Well, maybe not SO easy, especially the "take the plant out the old pot" part... Stanhopeas have a way of finding the holes in the basket and growing out of them in all directions. Don't be shy about sacrificing the basket... much better to cut the basket than damage the growths. Plastic baskets are easy to deconstruct with a diagonal cutter to clip in strategic places. Galvanized wire baskets may need a more robust cutter (like a bolt cutter). Work slowly and surgically. Once the plant is separated from its basket you can decide whether to divide, and where.
