Want durable, legible labels?
Staples is currently (through Saturday) running a special on a P-Touch label printer - $10.
Based upon my experience, if you use black-on-white TZe label film and you'll never have a fading problem again. Don't bother with the "industrial" tapes, as the glue on the standard ones adheres great to any label substrate, plastic or metal.

The price suggests they're dropping the item from inventory.

I still like lead pencil on long stakes....it lasts longer, and sun nor water fades it. my handwriting is atrocious, but I make it right.....

I have one of those laminators-- not really that expensive. And business card or ID card sized pouches. All I have to do is put the information on the card, (I can enclose a picture and any kind of instructions) and laminate. Then I get a zip tie, punch a hole with a hole puncher, and there's your plant ID.

So??. They aren't dropping the labels.
I just figure that for $10, you can't go wrong.

I agree. But that means pay attention to supplies in the future.

I've been using P-touch labels for years, and it's been the same tape all along. I think that's not a concern at all.

I almost pulled the trigger then I looked around my apartment. I don't label stuff! The plants mostly retain their original labels; I might have to rewrite some.
I rather like hand written labels.
Just another object to collect dust. Even just for $10.
