I got lucky and bought the P-Touch D210 label printer Ray mentioned above for $10, and picked it up the same day at Best Buy. I registered it, so I get promotional E-mails from Brother Corporation. I have no other connection with Brother Corporation.
Through April 2 they have
2 label makers with a discount. One works with the long-lasting TZe tape. The less-expensive one on sale does not use the long-lasting tape.
The
PT-D400AD, discounted to $44.95 before shipping, prints bar codes in addition to normal keyboad characters. The label maker mentioned earlier prints only keyboad characters. This one also includes the AC electrical wall adapter, and it runs on 6 x AA batteries (batteries not included.) The previous label printer did not include an electrical adapter. I bought one online, which cost an additional $22, raising my price to $32.
I like my label printer. I don't need to print bar code labels, but I do know people who bar code their cactus and succulent collections.
