This catt is always surprising me...it's always doing something.
The last flowers fell 3 days ago and there's what seems to be the next new growth.

Recall that it can bloom more than once a year... so here's the beginning of the next cycle. Fantastic plant!

I've confirmed that this year. It bloomed last late spring and finished the 2nd last week.
Fantastic plant indeed!

I think I've found a close approximation of what this Catt might be: Cattleya aclandiae.
Obviously I won't be sure about it but the one in the photo is like mine, with a few and "minor" differences.
Probably it's an hybrid of this Catt but knowing this is something I was not expecting to find.

Look up Lc Tropical Pointer...prob a lot of the same heritage, if not the same hybrid. TP has quite a few variants but they are all 2x/year bloomers and rampant, easy growers. Mine would open yellow with pink spots and within a few days the yellow background would turn pristine white.
I gave it away a few years ago but, if memory serves me, it also had a fabulous, citrus-y fragrance.

Yes, it could be. Mine has a chocolat fragrance, not very intense but in the sun it noticeable when one get close to it.
When the blooms start to fade mine turns completely purple. I have a photo of this behaviour a few older posts in this thread.

This year's first growth seems to be a lot bigger than the others, more than 30 cm (11 in)...this plant is getting huge!
I'm curious to know how many flowers it will give me this time.

Looks excellent! At least, new growth is vertical, so it will take air space, not more bench territory.
