This is a pattern in this catt... on the left right after blooming, on the right when they are fading.
Incredibly, these are the same flowers...

Now, if everything goes ok, it will start a new growth...it blooms twice/year.

What's with the 2nd leaf on the newest growth Browning out over the last couple weeks on mine? Catts are what I have my least experience with, this one was my 1st to buy about a year ago (clearance with a fading bloom). It has grown roots like crazy since repotting in July, new pbulb is nice and fat, bit just concerned a bit about this 2nd leaf dying. Does that mean no bloom this year?

It might be better to start a new thread with this question.
The thing turning brown is a flowering sheath, not a leaf. Cattleyas often flower from a green, living sheath, but some of them can flower from a dried-up sheath. The plant looks very healthy and well-grown, so I think there is a good chance you will get flowers from that sheath. Don't let the plant dry out for too long between waterings now. When plants are in bud, going dry for too long can cause buds to abort.

I would like to see a new thread on this. I am confused as how Catts accomplish bloom and is it the same for all of them? Maybe a basic Cattleya 101?
