Does mounting device need to be sealed or stained? Female
Default Does mounting device need to be sealed or stained?

Hi All! I recently bought this mount. As you can see from the pic it is a plank and pot combined. I was going to pot Brassalova pierenii in it. My first question is should it be stained or sealed (the mount not the plant)
My second question: pot in coarse bark or moss or moss core and bark or??? Thank you!
Well I can't attach it from my phone, drat.

You should not have to treat the basket. Don't know what will leach from the seal/stain.

As for the media, it will depend on your conditions and habits. I don't have any Brassies but the alliance generally likes well draining media and a chance to dry/almost dry before watering.

Hopefully, someone with Brassie experience will come along shortly.

I've just seen one that attached to a mount, no backing. Had about 20 blooms and is a magnificent specimen.
I would just pop it in the basket bare root.
